Argentinian industrial production declines in September

Argentinian industrial output in September dropped 11.5 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.

Industrial production in the local automotive segment in September declined 15.7 percent, year-on-year. Similarly, industrial production in the local metal mechanic sector in September diminished 20.5 percent, year-on-year.

According to Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for Q4 on a year-on-year basis, 30.5 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand. Another 8.8 percent forecast an increase in demand, while 60.7 percent anticipate a decline.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 54.7 percent expect a stable Q4 for exports, also on a year-on-year analysis. Additionally, 28.6 percent foresee an increase, while 16.7 percent anticipate a decline in exports in the same period.
