Argentinian industrial output declines in October

Argentinian industrial output in October declined 2.3 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by local statistics agency, Indec.

Government data said local industrial production in the accumulated period of January to October fell 7.2 percent, year-on-year, as the country faces a steep recession. Industrial output in the local automotive sector in October dropped 16.2 percent, year-on-year.

According to an Indec qualitative survey, which measured industrial segment expectations for the November 2019 – January 2020 period, 43.1 percent anticipate a decline in domestic demand on a year-on-year basis. Another 41.6 percent expect domestic demand in the November-January period won’t change, while 15.3 percent say domestic demand will increase.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 56.4 percent an expect a stable November 2019 – January 2020 period for exports, while 21.6 percent expect an increase, and 22 percent anticipate a decline in exports in the same period.
