Argentina’s industrial production up 3.5 percent in November

Argentina's industrial output in November increased 3.5 percent, year-on-year, according to data released this week by the country’s statistics agency, Indec. Indec said industrial production in the country’s automotive sector in November rose 3.3 percent on a year-on-year basis while the local metal mechanic sector improved 10.2 percent year-on-year.

According to an Indec’s qualitative survey, which measures the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for the December 2017-February 2018 period, on a year-on-year basis, 50.3 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand. On the other hand, another 38.8 percent anticipate an increase in demand, while 10.9 percent expect a decline.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 54.7 percent expect a stable December 2017- February 2018 for exports, also on a year-on-year analysis. Additionally, 28 percent foresee an increase and 17.3 percent expect a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
