Argentina’s crude steel output up 4.5% in Oct over Sept

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in October this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 413,700 metric tons, rising 4.5 percent as compared to the previous month but down 18.2 percent year on year. In the first 10 months of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 4.2 million metric tons, decreasing 8.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in October Argentina's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 385,900 metric tons, decreasing 3.8 percent month on month and down 21.6 percent compared to October 2011. Of this total, the hot rolled flat steel product output was 167,900 metric tons, down 12.9 percent month on month, while the long steel product output totaled 218,000 metric tons, increasing by 4.7 percent compared to September this year.

The country's cold rolled flat steel product output in October rose by 30.6 percent month on month to 128,900 metric tons, down 8.9 percent as compared to October last year.
