Argentina’s crude steel output down 28.7 percent in Feb

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in February this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 320,800 metric tons, rising 0.2 percent as compared to the previous month and down 28.7 percent year on year. In the first two months of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 640,800 metric tons, decreasing 24.3 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in February Argentina's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 353,900 metric tons, decreasing 7.7 percent month on month and down 9.2 percent compared to February 2012. Of this total, the hot rolled flat steel product output was 199,100 metric tons, down 7.6 percent month on month, while the long steel product output totaled 154,800 metric tons, down 7.9 percent compared to January this year.

The country's cold rolled flat steel product output in February fell by 26.9 percent month on month to 96,300 metric tons, down 6.6 percent as compared to February last year.
