Argentina’s crude steel output rises in October

According to the data released by Argentina's chamber of steel, in October this year Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 505,900 metric tons, rising by seven percent as compared to the previous month and up eight percent year on year.
 
In October, Argentina's total hot rolled steel product output increased by 9.5 percent month on month to 485,500 metric tons, while a 12 percent increase was recorded on year-on-year basis, including output of 240,800 metric tons of hot rolled flat steel products - up 6.7 percent month on month, and 244,600 metric tons of long steel products, increasing by 12.5 percent compared to September this year.
 
In the given month, the country's cold rolled flat steel product output rose by 48.6 percent month on month to 141,600 metric tons, increasing by 1.3 percent as compared to October 2010.
 
On the other hand, in the first 10 months of this year, Argentina's crude steel production totaled 4.67 million metric tons, increasing by 7.4 percent year on year. However, as compared to the January-October period of 2008, the country's steel production in the corresponding period this year indicates a decrease of 4.5 percent.
