Argentina’s auto output falls 10.2 percent in 2016

Argentina’s auto production output in December last year totaled 40,087 units, falling by 14.7 percent month on month and up 27.3 percent year on year, as announced by the country’s automotive industry association Adefa.
 
According to Adefa, in December Argentinian auto exports decreased by 12.7 percent compared to the previous month and were up by 71.8 percent compared to December 2015 to 18,802 units. Meanwhile, car sales in the country in December totaled 72,003, increasing by 15.3 percent month on month and growing by 108.7 percent year on year.
 
The nation’s automotive industry produced 472,776 units in 2016, 10.2 percent less than 2015. Likewise, exports also declined in 2016 to 190,008 units, down 20.8 percent year on year.
