The world’s largest steel producer,
ArcelorMittal, will be closing its Hennepin, Illinois steel plant.
In response to economic conditions,
ArcelorMittal said it will shut down the north-central Illinois steel plant as it duplicates work done at other plants.
The company has not discussed a shut down date yet, however when the facility does close, 285 employees will be out of work.
