Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal’s blast furnace No. 4 at its Dunkirk plant in France, which was halted after a fire broke out on March 30, is expected to resume production by the end of May, according to local media reports.

The blast furnace No. 4 has an annual production capacity of approximately 3.6 million mt.

In early April, the company notified its customers that its flat steel deliveries to Europe will be delayed and allocations for fresh order books may also be reduced as a result of the fires that impacted blast furnaces in Spain and France, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
