ArcelorMittal France, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal, is preparing to temporarily shut down its steelmaking operations at Fos-sur-Mer plant due to the dust emissions, according to local media reports.

The shut down was ordered by the labor inspectorate following the negative inspection results at the hot end operations with approximately 450 employees. The inspections revealed that the dust emissions contain high level of carcinogenic substances, risking the employees’ health.
