Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with France-based fastening components and assembly systems manufacturer Lisi Automotive to help transform the automotive industry with ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel. This partnership is in line with Lisi Automotive’s aim to reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2030.

Through this partnership, Lisi Automotive and ArcelorMittal plan to develop innovative components and assembly systems using XCarb® steel products, which will ultimately significantly reduce the carbon emissions associated with vehicle manufacturing.

The purchasing of XCarb® steel will represent a reduction of up to 45 percent of Lisi Automotive’s carbon emissions linked to raw material purchasing at ArcelorMittal.
