ArcelorMittal Europe and Gestamp to design circularity scheme

Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that its subsidiary ArcelorMittal Europe - Flat Products and Spain-based automotive component producer Gestamp have signed a circularity agreement to strengthen environmental sustainability throughout the supply chain.

The companies will jointly design and implement a circularity scheme that will enhance the recycling of steel between the companies.

“The return of high-quality pre-consumer scrap for the production of low-emission steel products allows Gestamp to secure the circular supply chain to our customers. Furthermore, this will allow us to keep using natural resources in a responsible way even after decarbonization objectives have been achieved,” stated Ernesto Barceló, chief ESG officer of Gestamp.
