US-based Terex to invest $140 million in a new plant in Nuevo León, Mexico

US-based Terex Corporation has invested $140 million to build its new plant in the northern city of Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León for the manufacture of steel platforms for lifting and handling cargo for various industries, the state government reported.

“Terex Genie, an American company dedicated to the manufacturing of construction platforms and elevators, today inaugurated its new plant in Nuevo León, which will employ 1,500 people and is consolidated with an investment of $140 million,” the state government reported in a statement of press.

Ciénega de Flores is 22 miles north of the capital of Nuevo León and 140 miles south of the border city of Laredo, Texas.

Genie is a subsidiary of Terex which manufactures work lifts and platforms used in construction, maintenance, warehouse stocking, and equipment installation.

According to the state government, the new company will manufacture three different types of people lifts and lifting platforms for the construction industry.
