Alro Steel Corp, a Michigan-based processor and distributor of metals and plastics, announced this week that it purchased the Central Steel & Wire plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for $7.1 million.

Alro Steel has an existing plant in nearby Wauwatosa, but the company has been reportedly “constrained” at the location. The Milwaukee building covers 108,000 square feet on a 10-acre lot, compared with 85,600 square feet at the Wauwatosa plant. The company has not yet announced plans for the Wauwatosa location, according to news reports.

Based in Jackson, Michigan, Alro operates more than 60 locations in 12 states.
