AK Steel implements surcharge on electrical steel products

With a recent statement, AK Steel has announced that it implemented a surcharge of $90 per ton on its electrical steel sheet and strip products to be in effect for the shipments as of March 1, 2004. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, AK Steel implemented surcharge of $30 per ton on its electrical steel sheet and strip products back in January to be in effect for the shipments as of February 1, 2004. The new surcharge is stated to be implemented as a result of excess increase in raw material and energy costs.
