ABB India to provide electrification and automation for AMNS’s new cold CR mill

ABB India Limited will provide complete electrification and automation systems for ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel Limited’s (AMNS) advanced cold rolling mill under construction at the latter’s mill in the western state of Gujarat, a statement issued by ABB India said on Monday, July 3.

According to the statement, the contract for electrification and automation was received through John Cockerill India Limited, which is the original equipment manufacturer of the AMNS cold rolling mill project.

“ABB India is providing advanced electrification and automation systems, including the ABB Ability System 800xA distributed control system (DCS) and associated equipment and components, to support enhanced energy efficiency, optimised zinc consumption and high levels of corrosion resistance throughout the steel production process,” the company statement said.

The cold rolling mill is scheduled for commissioning in 2024.
