Demand for Romanian seamless pipes has weakened over the past month due to the holiday season in Europe. In this situation, domestic quotations of seamless pipes have remained unchanged over the past month amid stable raw material costs, while export offers have declined by around €20/mt ($28/mt). Romanian suppliers may attempt to raise their prices in the coming period encouraged by better market sentiment after the winter holidays and the traditional post-holiday demand upturn.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €900-930/mt ($1,224-1,265/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €930-950/mt ($1,265-1,292/mt) FCA, 16" pipes are at levels of €1,050-1,080/mt ($1,428-1,469/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,380-1,400/mt ($1,877-1,904/mt) FCA, all for January production.

Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €940-980/mt ($1,279-1,333/mt) CPT.
