Turkish welded pipe export offers increase slightly

Demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market is still weak since buyers continue to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs and due to the oncoming winter season.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers’ offers for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to the domestic market have remained stable during the past week at $510-540/mt ex-works.

On the other hand, demand for Turkish producers’ welded pipes in the export markets is still weak, while inquiries for Turkish welded pipe have increased amid the ongoing structural projects in the Middle East but these inquiries have failed to result in deals. However, despite the weak demand, Turkish producers have increased their welded pipe export prices by $5/mt week on week to $510-550/mt FOB, supported by the upward trend of global welded pipe prices resulting from the increases in global HRC quotations.
