Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly continued to soften during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week amid some softening of upstream raw material prices. Overall trading activity has been weak, while certain regions have been suffering from the impact of rainy weather and demand has been slack. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate a further minor softening.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have maintained a downward trend during the past week as prices of steel strip and other raw materials have indicated some softening. Overall trading activity has been at a low level. Meanwhile, most traders have been willing to offer certain discounts in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic welded pipe prices may continue to move down by small margins.
