The local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to move down during the past week amid lower billet prices. Overall trading activity has been weak due to rainy weather and Covid-19 restriction measures. As for the week ahead, considering demand may remain weak and supply may rise slightly, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may indicate further minor decreases.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have indicated a downward trend during the past week against the backdrop of declining prices of steel strip and raw materials. Overall trading activity for welded pipes has been slack. As for the week ahead, considering macroeconomic policy may support the welded pipe market, it is believed that welded pipe prices may just indicate minor fluctuations.
