In the Indian market for welded pipes, most producers have been maintaining their prices stable amid moderate end-user demand. However, market participants say welded pipe quotations may go down in view of weaker buying activity and falling import feedstock prices.

Domestic quotations of 1"-6" black ERW pipes made to BS 1387 are at the level INR 35,000-36,500/mt ($750-790/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis, excluding tax. Current domestic prices of galvanized ERW pipes made to BS 1387 or IS 1239 are at the range of INR 40,000-42,000/mt ($860-905/mt) ex-works, depending on producers.

Most Indian producers are offering 1"-6" black ERW pipes as per BS 1387 (light series) to foreign customers at around $750-770/mt FOB. At the same time, export quotations of 1"-4" black ERW pipes as per BS 1387 or IS 1239 from top Indian producers, like Jindal Pipes, are at the level $830-855/mt FOB.

Export prices of galvanized ERW pipes of 1"-6" size made to BS 1387 are at around $800-850/mt FOB.
