Demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market is still at low levels this week. In line with the uptrend of domestic prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) - which is used as feedstock in steel pipe production - Turkish welded pipe producers tried to test the market with a view to increasing their prices, but have decided to maintain their prices levels unchanged due to weak demand.

Accordingly, Turkish producers’ offers for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to the domestic market are still in the range of $480-510/mt ex-works, remaining unchanged week on week.

Meanwhile, demand for Turkish welded pipe in the export markets has increased slightly over the past week, but is still at low levels. However, Turkish producers’ welded pipe export offers for the abovementioned grade have increased by $30/mt week on week to $480-520/mt FOB, with support from higher Chinese welded pipe prices and the slight increase in demand.
