On January 30, SteelOrbis reported import met coke (64 percent CSR) offers to India at $365-369/mt CFR India.

As Chinese traders prepare for their New Year holiday break from the global markets, met coke import offers to India are trending up $2/mt from $367-371/mt CFR India. The increase is attributed to potential expectations of increased pricing after the Chinese New Year’s week, although buyers are reportedly on the sidelines due to market uncertainty about the post-holiday period. Additionally, prices in India for various raw materials, as well as semi-finished goods, have softened over the past several weeks with no immediate sign of recovery.
