Over the past week, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in target markets has improved slightly as a result of the deals concluded to the US, while prices have remained stable at $330-350/mt FOB. While CIS-based pig iron suppliers’ quotations to the US and Italy are still at $360-370/mt CFR, sales prices have decreased to $355-360/mt CFR due to discounts given during actual transactions. Market sources state that they do not expect any recovery in demand in the coming period due to the approach of the summer season.
