According to market sources, ex-CIS pig iron offers to Italy are around $380-390/mt CFR, but the latest deals were concluded at slightly lower prices, such as $375-385/mt CFR. In the past weeks, buyers feared disruptions in the pig iron shipments from the Azov Sea due to the Kerch crisis, but these haven't occurred. Meanwhile, demand remained at normal levels. Currently, the market is more quiet due to the approaching of Christmas holidays, therefore prices should trend sideways until the second week of January.
