Ex-Australia coking coal prices tick down

On May 23, SteelOrbis reported that PHCC (premium hard coking coal) offers to India were at $210-211/mt FOB Australia and HCC at $183-184/mt FOB Australia. In CFR India terms, the PHCC price was reportedly at $222-223/mt while HCC is reportedly at $195-196/mt.

Sources now inform SteelOrbis that PHCC offers to India are presently at $202-203/mt FOB Australia and HCC at $183-184/mt FOB Australia. In CFR India terms, the PHCC price is now reportedly at $215-217/mt while HCC is reportedly at $195-196/mt. In CFR terms, PHCC decreased by $7/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $6/mt from the top of the same range while HCC remained stable compared to two weeks ago. A source noted that HCC prices sought to increase a few days after the May 23 report but then began to decline on May 28 until reaching the present level again.
