US longs mills drop prices on merchant bar and beams

In letters to customers this week, Nucor, Steel Dynamics, Inc., and Gerdau have announced price decreases for US domestic merchant bar and beam products.

Prices for wide flange beams will decrease by $2.00 cwt. ($40/nt or $44/mt), effective immediately. The new published price for the benchmark W10x10, 49-112 product will now be $41.25 cwt. ($825/nt or $909/mt) ex-mill.

Prices for merchant bar will decrease by $1.25 cwt. ($25/nt or $28/mt), effective immediately.

List prices for US domestic merchant bar are now as follows:
