Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers’ prices have remained stable in the local currency , with minor changes on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 24,100/mt ($603/mt) ex-works today, July 8.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in late July-August or from stocks, depending on the size. The sentiment on the demand side is still negative as the US dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate hit $1 = TRY 40 this week.
