Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly remained their official domestic merchant bar prices unchanged in the local currency, falling by only $3/mt on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the ongoing depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. However, one Iskenderun-based mill issued its equal angle price at TRY 29,200/mt ($650/mt) ex-works today, April 21, up TRY 800/mt ($15/mt) over the past week.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in May or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are in wait-and-see mode until the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate decision due tomorrow, April 22.
