Turkish merchant bar producers have kept their official domestic merchant bar prices stable in the local currency, while falling by only $2/mt amid the ongoing currency fluctuations, as compared to last week.
One Iskenderun-based mill issued its equal angle price at TRY 28,400/mt ($635/mt) ex-works today, April 14. It indicates no change in the local currency, while falling by only $2/mt on US dollar basis.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in May or from stocks, depending on the size.
The general sentiment on the demand side is negative. A few merchant bar re-rollers are applying aggressive pricing strategies to generate cash.
