Merchant bar prices in Turkey have increased by TRY 50-150/mt amid rapid currency fluctuations over the past two weeks. Most buyers are monitoring the raw material segment closely, against the backdrop of the relatively positive sentiment as regards import billet prices.
Merchant bar rerollers in the Karabuk region have increased their prices by small margins on US dollar basis in order to set their merchant bar prices closer to those in the Iskenderun region.
Most Turkish merchant bar rerollers are offering material for November delivery or limited tonnages available from stocks. An Izmir-based mill has kept its HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at $870/mt ex-works.
