Pakistani domestic producers are able to satisfy only 30-40 percent of low carbon demand in the local market; thus, buyers in this market have been carefully evaluating import offers. Low carbon wire rod offers given from Turkey to Pakistan are standing at the levels of $485-495/mt CFR Karachi, while CIS origin offers for the same grade wire rod to the same country are in the range of $470-480/mt CFR Karachi. Both offers are for June/July shipments. The Turkish mills' offers are at slightly higher levels as compared to the CIS origin offers.
