According to market sources, currently prices in the local Italian hot rolled coil (HRC) market are mostly at €480-490/mt ($542-554/mt) ex-works, slightly down compared to the €490/mt level recorded one week ago. Apparent demand remains low as service centers still have adequate stock levels. Meanwhile, import HRC offers have begun trending down lately as local buyers prefer domestic material due to shorter lead times. Meanwhile, HRC prices in northern Europe are at around €505-510/mt ($571-576/mt) ex-works.
