Flat steel demand in the local Portuguese market has remained weak, while local producer Lusosider has pushed up its hot dip galvanized (HDG) offers by €10-20/mt ($13-26/mt), though it is still unclear whether this move will gain acceptance by market players. Meanwhile, plate prices have declined by €5/mt ($7/mt). The Portuguese flat steel market is waiting to see the new import offers which are expected to be announced next week.

SteelOrbis has learned that in the Portuguese flat steel market the prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) are still standing at €515/mt ($670/mt) ex-works, while hot rolled sheet (HRS) is being offered at €590-595 ($767-774/mt) ex-warehouse. All the prices in question are for November output.

On the other hand, Lusosider's November rolling base offers for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil are now standing at €580-600/mt ($754-780/mt) ex-works.
