Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC for export to South American countries in price range of $580/mt to $600/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, the same range as last week, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

Reverting previous expectations for a decline in volume, Brazilian HRC exports of February actually increased by 19 percent from January to 102,800 mt, reflecting higher volumes exported during the last week of the month.

The main exporters were ArcelorMittal (67,300 mt at $489/mt), CSN (31,500 mt at $513/mt) and Usiminas (4,000 mt at $956/mt), all FOB conditions and price deals probably closed in December. The main destinations were South American countries (43,900 mt at $543/mt), the EU (32,300 mt at $516/mt) and Turkey (26,600 mt at $467/mt).
