Brazilian producers remain negotiating HRC of the basic commercial grades for export at $610/mt, FOB conditions, a reference price now stable for two weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

In February Brazil exported 143,400 mt of HRC, 70 percent more than in January, at an average FOB price reduced by 7.9 percent to $536/mt.

ArcelorMittal exported 80,000 mt at $531/mt, CSN exported 56,000 mt at $539/mt, Gerdau exported 4,400 mt at $432/mt, and Usiminas exported 3,000 mt at $763/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2017.

The main destinations were the EU (54,800 mt), Asia (44,200 mt) and South America (42,300 mt), while 2,000 mt was shipped to the Caribbean.
