Brazilian producers are reportedly negotiating HRC for export to non-US destinations in a price range of $580/mt to $590/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, the same range over the last two weeks, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.
In April, Brazil exported 87,800 mt of HRC at $519/mt, against 90,100 mt at $476/mt in March, both FOB conditions.
Reduced shipments during the last week of April have frustrated expectations of higher volumes exported during the month. ArcelorMittal exported 54,800 mt at $510/mt, CSN exported 31,200 mt at $512/mt and Usiminas exported 1,800 mt at $920/mt, with price deals probably closed in February.
The destinations were South America (53,300 mt at $522/mt), Portugal (31,200 mt at $512/mt) and the Dominican Republic (3,300 mt at $554/mt).
