SteelOrbis has learned that in the Portuguese flat steel market both domestic and import offers have soften by €5-10/mt ($6-13/mt), while demand has remained sluggish. In addition, Italian origin flat steel prices are anticipated to decline further by small margins.

In the Portuguese flat steel market, prices of hot rolled sheet (HRS) are currently standing at €590-600/mt ($743-756/mt) ex-warehouse, while local producer Lusosider's domestic offers for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil are at the level of €590-595/mt ($743-750/mt) ex-works.

In the meantime, in Italy's July production flat steel offers to Spain, hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are at the base price level of €515-520/mt ($649-655/mt), cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are at €590-595/mt ($743-750/mt), and HDG prices are at €575-580/mt ($725-731/mt) base price level.
