This week, import flat steel offers for the Turkish market have begun to come to light.
After Russian steelmaker Severstal's export price announcement this week for August rolling, other producers from the CIS and Europe are also expected to issue their export prices next week. Although hot rolled coil (HRC) import offers given to the Turkish market show signs of increasing, it is stated that slightly lower prices are also not out of question in the actual transaction phase.
Last month, although Severstal had first announced its HRC price for Turkey at $615/mt CFR, the producer closed the month after making transactions at $595/mt CFR. However, considering the positive trend seen in the Turkish domestic flat steel market in the first half of July, Severstal has increased its HRC price for Turkey by $10/mt to $605/mt CFR. While Severstal's new price has been well received by Turkish buyers, they are waiting for other offers to gain clarity before they conclude new bookings.
As SteelOrbis reported early this week, Severstal's HRC offers to Turkey are currently standing at $605/mt CFR, while its cold rolled coil (CRC) offers are at $670-720/mt CFR, both for August rolling. In the meantime, the Russian producer's August production hot rolled plate (HRP) offers from its mill 2800 to Turkey now stand at the level of $660-665/mt CFR, while its HRP offers from its mill 5000 to Turkey are at $690-700/mt CFR.
