In the Turkish domestic flat steel market, the plate offers of CIS producers are expected to gain clarity soon, with some increases likely to be seen. Meanwhile, demand in the domestic market is still silent.

Last month, the steel plate offers of Ukrainian producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) to the Turkish market were at the level of $660/mt CFR. While new plate offers from Alchevsk to Turkey had been expected for May shipment, Alchevsk has not yet made any new plate offers to the Turkish market as the producer has plenty orders from the previous month and has recently concluded sales in the Ukrainian domestic market. However, in mid-March Alchevsk will make new offers to the Turkish plate market for June shipments. On the other hand, Metinvest subsidiary Ukraine-based Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol's (Ilyich) initial plate offers for April production to the Turkish domestic market were at the level of $670/mt CFR, but the producer has withdrawn the offers in question and is expected to return with new offers to the Turkish market soon.

Another Ukrainian plate producer Donetsk Metallurgical Plant's (DMZ) plate offers to the Turkish market are standing at $640/mt CFR.
