According to sources, Brazilian slab producers are offering their product, for shipment in February, in an average reference price of $545/mt, stable from last week, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, to non-US destinations.
For sales to the US, the reference price remains stable at $590/mt, also FOB conditions.
In November, Brazil exported 463,700 mt of slabs at $669/mt, while imported 44,800 mt of the product at $574/mt, FOB conditions.
Shipments in December are expected to exceed the volume exported in November.
