Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for March deliveries. The details are as follows (comparisons are with February prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC):
Prices of products produced by Baosteel's main steel production base and by its stainless steel division are up by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt).
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
I) Prices of products produced by the main steel production base and by subsidiary Shanghai Meishan Co. are up by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt).
II) Prices of products from the stainless steel division are RMB 50/mt ($7/mt) lower than prices of products from the main steel base.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
I) Prices of products from the main steel base and stainless steel division are up by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt).
II) Products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co. are RMB 200/mt ($31/mt) lower in price than products from the main steel base.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
I) Prices of products from the main steel production base are up by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).
II) Prices of products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co. are up by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt).
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products have increased in price by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).
6. Galvalume:
I) Prices of products from the main steel base are up by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt).
II) Prices of products from Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co. are RMB 50/mt ($7/mt) lower than prices of products from the main steel base.
III) The prices of products of 1.00-1.29 mm thickness have changed as follows:

7. Coated products (March-April): prices are up by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt) as compared to prices for January-February.
8. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel: prices of B50A700 and B65A700 are up by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt), while prices of B50A800, B65A800 and all lower grades are up by RMB 350/mt ($55/mt).
9. Prices of heavy plate are unchanged.
All the above price changes are effective from February 13, 2012 and exclude 17 percent VAT
