Activity remains weak in local Chinese HRC market

In the week ending September 29, average hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a stable trend, while transaction activity in the overall market has remained at low levels. Average HRC prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.

During the given week, with the National Day Holiday (October 1-7) approaching and the rainy weather seen in some regions, some HRC traders have already gone on holiday, contributing to the quiet transaction activity in the HRC market. It is thought that HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely continue their stable trend after the holiday.
