Zaporozhstal reports production results for Jan-Sep
According to its preliminary production data for the January-September 2006 period, the Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporozhstal increased finished steel products output by 3.3 percent, raised pig iron production by 0.8 percent and upped crude steel production by 2.2 percent year on year. The respective production figures in metric tons were 2.7 million, 2.67million, and 3.3 million. During the period in question, however, Zaporozhstal registered a drop in agglomerate production of 0.1 percent, producing a metric tonnage of 4.2 million. In September alone, Zaporozhstal produced a total of 303,000 metric tons of finished steel products, 367,000 metric tons of crude steel, 292,000 metric tons of pig iron and 470,000 metric tons of agglomerate.
