WISCO’s upgraded No. 1 silicon steel plant to start production by end of year

According to Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO), the project for the upgrading of its No. 1 silicon steel plant, on which construction work commenced in April 2011, is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of the current year.

When its No. 3 silicon steel plant was put into production in 2010, the silicon steel output capacity of WISCO reached 2 million mt. Meanwhile, the grain-oriented silicon steel annual capacity of WISCO has reached 400,000 mt.
