WISCO to build 14 ship berths for Fangchenggang steel facilities

Major Chinese major steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) has announced that it plans to build 14 ship berths at the southern Chinese coastal city of Fangchenggang, where it has started construction work on its new steel production base.
 
Accordingly, the steelmaker will build two 200,000 dwt berths, a 100,000 dwt berth, a 50,000 dwt berth, two 20,000 dwt berths and eight 10,000 dwt berths, with a total designed annual throughput of up to 41.67 million dwt. 

WISCO's new steel production base in Fangchanggang, on which construction is expected to last three years, is expected to have annual output capacities of 8.50 million mt of pig iron, 9.20 million mt of semi-finished steel and 8.60 million mt of finished steel. The main products will be hot rolled sheet, hot rolled plate, cold rolled sheet, galvanized sheet and cold rolled silicon steel.
