WISCO issues certain steel prices for October shipment

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (WISCO) has issued its prices of certain steel products for October shipment. The prices are as follows (comparisons being with September prices):

1. Wire rod: Prices of high carbon and cold heading products have increased RMB 50/mt ($7/mt), while prices of other products have remained stable.

2. Hot rolled (HR)

(1). The prices of ordinary carbon, low carbon alloy and high carbon automobile steel with thickness up to 2.0 mm have risen by RMB 30/mt ($4/mt)

(2). Prices of shipbuilding plate and plates of ordinary carbon, low carbon alloy and high carbon with thickness over 2.0 mm have fallen by RMB 50 /mt ($7/mt).

(3). Prices of other products are unchanged.

3. Beams

All prices have remained stable.

4. Cold rolled (CR)

(1)  Prices of DC04 and higher standard deep drawing and high strength products have increased by RMB 100 /mt ($15/mt).

(2) Prices of other products have increased by RMB 60 /mt ($9/mt).

5. Pickled steel

All product prices remain unchanged.

6. Hot dip galvanized (HDG)

All product prices remain unchanged.

7. Tinplate

All product prices have increased by RMB 100mt ($15/mt).

8. Pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI)

All product prices remain unchanged.

9. Non-grain-oriented silicon steel

(1) The prices of 50ww700 have fallen by RMB 400/mt ($62/mt ) and other product prices have remained stable.

(2) The prices of 50WW470-BY, 50WG470X, 50W470X, 50WD470, 35WD470 products have decreased by RMB 400/mt ($62/mt), and other medium number product prices have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($31/mt)

(3) Other product prices remain unchanged.

10. Grain-oriented silicon steel

All product prices remain unchanged.

All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of September 13, 2011.
