WCI completes reline of its blast furnace

Ohio-based steel producer WCI Steel has recently announced that it has completed reline of its blast furnace successfully. The blast furnace, reline of which cost $15.3 million, has started producing iron on Saturday, i.e on July 17. It is stated that the blast furnace will be operating at full capacity soon. During the reline, which lasted 42 days, WCI also repaired generator and motors at the tandem mill and revamped the furnace at the hot strip mill.
