Vietnam’s steel imports up 6.3 percent in December from November

In December last year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1,554,921 mt, up 6.3 percent compared to November, while its scrap imports grew by 34.1 percent month on month to 602,245 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

In 2024, Vietnam’s steel imports increased by 32.9 percent year on year to 17.71 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 4.92 million mt, up by 14.3 percent year on year.
