Vietnam may impose import tariff on stainless cold rolled steel

The Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) has suggested that the Vietnamese governmentshould increase the import tariff on stainless cold rolled steelfrom the current zero percent to 10 percent, as reported by Vietnam EconomicTimes on November 1.

The domestic stainless steelannual output capacity in Vietnam has reached 350,000 mt, which can fullysupply local market demand. Accordingly, the VSA considers that stainless steelimports should be restricted in order to protect domestic steel enterprises.
